Shape Ups

I have not posted anything since I believe Wednesday and Thursday, so I will catch up. My first day back at work was on Thursday and it was nice to see everyone and students. I am still not leaving till they find my replacement, so till then I need to make sure and stay focused and not get behind on anything on my agenda.

I started walking the neighborhood as of Thursday morning and I found this website http://www.favoriterun.com/ that measures your route. Walking around our neighborhood 4 times is about 3.68 miles. I was feeling the pain on Friday during my morning walk at that time, but I made it till the end.

I said that I was not going to get on the shape up shoes kick and well I did. I went yesterday and bought me some shoes by Reebok and they feel really good. I figure if I am going to be doing a lot of walking then I will spend money on the shoes. My shoes do not look like those funky looking shape up shoes ( will post picture). They are very comfortable but will let you know how I feel when I walk in them.

I also did some exercises with resistance bands and I love it because you can do it in front of the TV and not feel like you are working out. My key thing is to do the exercises in minute intervals instead of counting because I tend to lose count. So I use a cooking timer. LOL! No need to go out and by any fancy timer or watch.

I will go for a walk later on today with my new shoes, so tune in for tomorrow and how I enjoyed them on my walk.

TTFN!

On Track

Today was an oddly lazy but productive day. I know that sounds weird but I felt like I accomplished some things and was able to be lazy. I actually did some lower body exercises to get my body moving. I did no want to strain myself and regret it later. Jose and I also walked the neighborhood after dinner. The walk was great because we were able to have a conversation without the girls interrupting. I will also go walking again in the morning to get myself going. So I need to make sure I get my music together so I can roll with the flow!

I made dinner which felt like it had been forever since I had my birthday week, then my surgery so I have had the privilege of not cooking. All that is gone and I have to get back to reality.

Tomorrow I go back to work and I start school next Tuesday and I need to make sure I start off on the right track.

Have a goodnight and great Thursday!

One Item off Plate

Today was much better than yesterday. My minor surgery went well, but the after math was CRAMPING. I am very grateful for pain medication! I am doing much better today very minor pain compared to yesterday. I should be able to start my workout routine by Thursday but slowly.

The first thing that I took off my plate was resigning from the school district that I work for. I only work 2 hours a day but it was in the middle of the day which left me no time in the morning or afternoon to do any homework, housework, or workout. It was a difficult decision considering that I love the school and the people that I work with. In the end I will benefit because I need to put myself first. I still will volunteer as a parent because I believe it is important to help, but it will be on my terms.

The girls seem to have a good day at school Monday and today considering being on break for 2 weeks. I think Jose had an aha moment when he dropped the girls off at school this morning. He has not done drop off duty ever and have the privilege to watch the girls walk to class. So he was able to see them get off the car and walk themselves onto campus and too their classes. Jose stated to me that, "He realized how grown up they are watching them".

Have a great Hump Day!

New Track

Today is the last day for the girls winter break. They are not happy about getting back to school, but we all know they need it (or shall I say I need it). We were able to get all our Christmas things put away and did some last minute cleaning. I took a long nap which is not good but I am not taking vitamins or iron pills because I am having outpatient surgery tomorrow. Nothing to worry about just female things. Gabby rode her scooter and Anastasia was on the computer. If anyone knows Jose you know what he was doing (football). Once I woke up from my nap the girls rode their scooters, Jose and I walked twice around the neighborhood. This is the first step to both him and I getting back on track for our healthy goals.

Since I am not able to have anything to eat or drink after 6am then I need to make sure and get up at 5am and drink my coffee. Yes, I cannot live without drinking my coffee.

Today I had a short conversation with Anastasia advising her that she needs to get a little better attitude because she tends to take it out on the rest of the family. I just gave her some advice and told her that I understand that we as girls get grumpy, cranky, and moody but she needs to know when she is in a mood and go to her room. She understood lets see if she remembers. I will keep you updated.

I had a wonderful birthday because I did absolutely nothing! My favorite thing to do.

Have a good evening and Happy Monday!

New Blogger

So today I decided that I would start my online journal with the cyber world. Today I turned 36 years old and I need to make a few changes in my life that hopefully will help me become a better wife, mother, and student. Since I have moved to Tucson and overcome some struggles from marriage, and motherhood. Moving away from all of our friends and family could not have been as easy as I thought it could be. I over came many hurdles and decided that I needed to start thinking about myself. I learned very quickly that if I can not take care of myself then I could not take care of others. That is when the decision for me to go back to school was made. So just like any other mother and wife, I had to start off slow and work around their schedule. I did all my school online through Pima Community College. This past Fall 2010 was when I actually saw the first light at the end of the tunnel when I transferred to NAU as a junior. All I can say is WOW! Without the support of my husband, cooperation of my two girls, and great friends I do not know if I could have done this.

Now I need to be on the trail of putting my self first again because I have a habit of thinking of others without thinking about how it will affect me. I finished my first semester with a GPA of 3.5. ( Yes I know that is awesome) I could have easily received a better grade but once again I always add things to my plate until I realize it is over filled. I stop working out which makes me gain weight, tend to procrastinate which I hate. You get the picture.

I will be setting new goals for myself  and meet them!
